My aunt bought me Scrivener for Christmas, and now that I’ve spent a month or so using it, I’m totally hooked. Granted, I’m still in that new toy phase where I’m writing more than usual just because I want to use Scrivener more, but even once the sheen wears off, I foresee using the program for all my writing.
A couple baller standout features:
- Writing smaller chunks – scenes, chapters, etc. – that can later be quickly and easily compiled into larger projects – screenplays, novels, etc.
- Composition mode – blocks out distractions, feels great, looks cool
- Auto-backup to multiple places – ’cause that one time you’re lazy is that one time you lose that brilliant scene
And trust me, that’s just a teaser. I’m still a Scrivener noob, so I can’t really elaborate on its deeper, richer features yet. And/but I don’t really have to. Scrivener is so awesome, I don’t really need to sell it. Just try it. You won’t be disappointed.
